Margaret tries not to take life too seriously. This is probably a weird reaction to working in serious industries – financial journalism and Wall St. – most of her life. To keep from laughing out loud to herself she has exorcised her humour demons by presenting a quirky “Telling it like it is” business show for Newstalk during the bailout period, writing off-beat business columns for the Irish Times (Platform, Cents and Nonsense) and the Irish Marketing Journal, tweeting odd thoughts and deep insights on twitter (@margareteward) and working for almost one-eighth of her life as Money Editor for the Sunday Times. She’s also a sometime lecturer in financial journalism at Independent Colleges.
Margaret also likes to talk. A lot. A few radio and TV programmes kindly let her blab to the nation. Her husband is so thankful that his ears get a break. She regularly contributes to TV3′s Tonight with Vincent Browne, RTE’s History Show, Saturday View, Frontline and Newstalk’s Breakfast, the BBC (UK and NI) and National Public Radio (USA). Sometimes she also gets to “play pretend” as an American voiceover artist for television and radio.
